Pau Gasol Listed As Day-To-Day With Bone Bruise In Knee

Pau Gasol briefly left Sunday's Los Angeles Lakers game against the Denver Nuggets after falling awkwardly, with his right knee appearing to be hyperextended. Gasol returned to the game after a brief visit to the lockerroom, but postgame swelling and soreness led to a Monday MRI. David Lassen of the Riverside Press-Enterprise reports that Gasol suffered a bone bruise, and has been listed as day-to-day.

Andrew Bynum is also a little banged up, having knocked knees with Lamar Odom in the Denver game. The Lakers play Tuesday against the Utah Jazz, a team L.A. beat by 11 in Salt Lake City last Friday. Only six regular season games remain for the two-time defending champs, who will open their run for a third straight NBA title in about 10 days.

The Lakers are trying to catch the San Antonio Spurs for the No. 1 seed in the West. The Spurs are 2.5 games ahead. The teams play on April 12.
