Knicks Vs. 76ers Score: Carmelo Anthony Leads New York To 26-19 Lead After One

Carmelo Anthony is off to a fast start for the Knicks as they try to move past Philadelphia and back into the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. Anthony recorded eight points and seven rebounds in the opening 12 minutes for the Knicks. Shawne Williams added eight points of his own off the bench for Mike D'Antoni's club.

Philadelphia was led by Elton Brand’s eight points but no other Sixer got off to a good start shooting the ball. As a team, the Sixers only shot 38% in the first quarter and missed all three of their three point attempts.

New York has won four in a row and looked very energetic on defense in the opening period. The challenge for them will be to sustain that effort over the course of the game.

Anthony played the entire first period so it is likely that the Knicks will look to establish Amare Stoudemire in the second quarter.
