Chauncey Billups Injury: Right Thigh Forces Knicks Guard Out Of Sixers Game

While the Knicks are leading Philadelphia and appear to be on their way to moving back into sixth place in the Eastern Conference, Chauncey Billups left tonight’s game with an injury to his right thigh after he banged into an Elton Brand screen. Billups lay on the floor until the Knicks were able to take a time out.

Billups returned to the floor following the time out but after a couple of trips up and down the floor, signaled to the Knicks bench that he needed to be removed from the game. He immediately headed for the locker room with New York trainer Roger Hinds. New York announced that Billus will not return to tonight’s game.

Previously Billups missed several games of action with a left thigh injury that happened in almost the same fashion where Chauncey banged legs with Dwight Howard while fighting over a screen. Tonight’s injury was to the right thigh and there is no word yet as to the severity of the injury.
