Carmelo Anthony scored 15 of his game high 28 points in the third quarter as the Knicks pushed their lead out to as many as 19 points over the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers have never been able to get on track in this game as they have shot under 40% throughout and had no answer for Anthony’s scoring outburst.
Knicks Vs. 76ers Score: Carmelo Anthony Paces New York To 78-65 Lead After Three
Amare Stoudemire has 13 points and seven assists for the Knicks through three quarters of play. Philly is led by Elton Brand’s 20 points but no other Sixer has been able to find their shooting stroke thus far. Andre Iguodala has 12 points and Thaddeus Young has 10 also for Philadelphia.
The Knicks were dominant coming out of halftime and need only to finish the job. The ball movement has been crisp with Stoudemire himself looking to make the extra pass to Anthony who caught fire early in the quarter. The team will be without Chauncey Billups for the remainder of the game after he suffered what is being called a right thigh contusion while fighting over a Elton Brand screen.
