No one player has been dominant for the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night, but a balanced attack — with four players scoring eight or more points and all five starters above six — has the Blazers on top of the Utah Jazz at the half, 49-42. Brandon Roy came on strong in a reserve role as he adjusts to coming off the bench, scoring nine first half points on 4-5 shooting.
Jazz Vs. Blazers Score: Portland Starters Share Scoring Load To Take Halftime Lead
After jumping out to a nine point halftime lead, Utah began to close, but the Blazers slammed the door before the half to head into the break with the seven-point lead. Portland shot 46.5 percent from the field, just barely besting the Utah’s 45.2 percent. But with Gerald Wallace, Nicolas Batum and Roy firing, Portland was able to overpower the Jazz, who countered with the scoring duo of Paul Milsap and Devin Harris.
Batum led the way for Portland with 13 points. Wallace and Roy added nine, with LaMarcus Aldridge chipping in eight points. Millsap and Harris had 12 and 10 first half points for the Jazz, respectively.
