Celtics Vs. Heat Score: LeBron James, Dwyane Wade Close Out The Celtics 97-87

The Miami Heat finished Game 5 on a 16-0 run catapulting them to a 97-87 series clinching victory over the Boston Celtics. LeBron James quieted some of his critics scoring the final ten points of the game. James gave the Heat the lead for good with a three-point basket at 2:10 mark. A little over a minute later he buried another three giving Miami a six point lead. After a Boston time-out, James stole the inbounds pass and finished with a dunk that sent the American Airlines Arena into a frenzy.

Wade finished with 34 points while James chipped in 33 for the Heat. Chris Bosh added 14 as the new big three combined for 81 of Miami’s 97 points.

For a while it looked like the Celtics were going to be able to hold on. They got key contributions from their bench with players like Delonte West and Nenad Krstic turning in their best performances of the playoffs. Yet when Miami started their run, they had no answer. Boston was held scoreless over the final four minutes of the game.

Ray Allen led the way for Boston with 18 points but was held scoreless in the fourth quarter. Kevin Garnett scored 15 points but 12 of those came in the first quarter. Paul Pierce was in foul trouble throughout and finished with 12 points.
