The Chicago Bulls were down by as many as 11 points to the Atlanta Hawks in the second quarter, but they persevered and are down by only one at halftime, 51-50.

Luol Deng led the Bulls with 17 points in the first half, as Derrick Rose was silent for the most part. After going 0-for-7 in the first quarter, Rose didn't score his first points until five minutes remained in the half. That was at the start of the Bulls' run toward 20 points to end the quarter. Rose has five points and five assists at halftime. After a poor start shooting from the field, the Bulls have made 43 percent of their shots.
Atlanta began the game with a 9-0 lead and saw an 11-point lead to start the second quarter, but they weren't able to maintain that momentum as the clock ticked down to halftime. Joe Johnson led the team with 13 points, while Jamal Crawford had nine points from off the bench. Jeff Teague more than held his own on Derrick Rose and scored six points. As a team they have made 56.4 percent of their shots.
