Derrick Rose scored 25 points and Joakim Noah recorded a double-double while helping Chicago defeat Atlanta 86-73 evening the series at one game apiece. Noah finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds and it was his energy that helped Chicago to a 58-39 rebounding advantage over the Hawks. Rose was good in this one but Noah was the difference for the Bulls. Luol Deng also added 14 points and 12 rebounds for Chicago.

Atlanta’s hot shooting didn’t carry over from Game 1 as they only connected on 34% of their shots in Game 2. Jeff Teague led the way with 21 points three assists, and three steals. Joe Johnson finished with 16 points while Josh Smith added 13. Al Horford had a big night on the boards with 14 but finished with just six points on 3-12 shooting. After an outstanding Game 1, Jamal Crawford didn’t enjoy the same success finishing with 11 points on just 2-10 shooting.
Chicago built as big as a 14 point lead in the fourth before Atlanta cut it down to six. However, the Hawks simply couldn’t get enough high quality looks at the basket to get any closer. Chicago adjusted their game plan defensively by sending help towards Joe Johnson and Atlanta couldn’t cash in from the perimeter enough tonight to make the Bulls pay.
The series now shifts to Atlanta for Game 3 on Friday where the Hawks are undefeated this post season.
