ESPN NBA analyst Jalen Rose has received a sentence of 20 days in jail stemming from an arrest last March for driving under the influence in Michigan. Rose's total sentence is 92 days, but all but 20 days are suspended. Rose will also be on probation for the year under the sentence.
Jalen Rose Sentenced To 20 Days In Jail For DUI Arrest, Lawyer Furious
Rose had plead guilty to the charge in May, telling a judge he had six martinis and a blood-alcohol level of 0.12, over the 0.88 legal limit in Michigan. However, Rose’s lawyer has spoken out against the charge. Via TMZ:
Attorney Keith Davidson tells TMZ, “The 20-day jail sentence issued today by this Michigan judge is outrageous.”
He adds, “Today we saw a horrendous example of judicial temperament and discretion.”
Davidson claimed that Rose’s clean criminal record should have been taken into account more before the punishment was made. He also suggested Rose was subject to “abuse and discretion” by the judge.
