Carmelo Anthony Injury Status: Knicks Forward Doubtful Vs. Thunder On Saturday

Carmelo Anthony is doubtful for Saturday's game between the New York Knicks and the Oklahoma City Thunder after spraining his right ankle against the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night. The injury leaves New York without its leading scorer, something they can ill afford considering how poorly they played without him in the lineup.

Anthony injured his ankle after stepping awkwardly on a loose ball play, knocking him out for most of the second half. The Knicks were losing by 13 points early in the third quarter when the injury occurred. By the end of the quarter they were down 23, before going on to lose by a 94-83 final margin.

Anthony also suffered a minor wrist injury during the game, on top of his already sore hip, knee and back. Should he miss Saturday's game, Bill Walker could see more minutes on the court. Mike D'Antoni may also opt to move Iman Shumpert to small froward, and have Mike Bibby or Toney Douglas run point.
