Chris Paul Injury: Clippers Guard Leaves With Strained Hamstring

Chris Paul left Saturday night’s matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers with a strained hamstring. His status going forward is still unknown.

Chris Paul was having an outstanding game on Sunday night as the Clippers and Lakers battled for bragging rights at Staples Center. But late in the fourth quarter, with the Clippers up by 12, Paul pulled up lame, grabbing his left hamstring while appearing to be in significant pain. The hamstring injury forced Paul to the bench, and certainly caused plenty of concern for Clippers' fans.

Paul was declared out for the game -- kind of a formality with just a few minutes left -- and his status going forward is still unknown. Hamstring injuries can be quite dicey, and typically end up lingering for lengthy periods of time. Paul’s recovery time, and whether he’ll miss any game action, is still unknown as it’s far to early to determine how severe the strain is.

Before leaving, Paul scored a team-high 33 points while dishing out six assists and four rebounds.
