Chris Paul Injury: Clippers Guard Undergoes MRI On Strained Hamstring

The Clippers cruised to a 114-95 victory over the Lakers on Saturday night, but it came at a price: All-Star point guard Chris Paul left the game late in the fourth quarter after straining his left hamstring. Paul underwent an MRI exam on Sunday morning and is still waiting to learn the results, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"Obviously Chris is a big part of what we do," Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said. "But we had to deal with it and other guys have got to get ready to play."

Unfortunately for the Clippers, those other guys are less than 100 percent, as well: Mo Williams did not play on Saturday due to sore right foot, and Chauncey Billups is playing with a tight back. Billups isn't expected to miss any time, though, and Del Negro is optimistic Williams may return soon.

“I think he felt a little bit better today,” Del Negro said. “He’ll be re-evaluated every day. Obviously we need him more than ever.”
