Dwyane Wade was on the court, going through a battery of drills in an effort to test his sprained ankle ahead of Wednesday night’s matchup with the Detroit Pistons. And though Wade appeared to respond to the workout well, he will miss Wednesday’s game, according to head coach Erik Spoelstra.

If one were to guess, it would seem Wade is close to returning. The Heat are taking a cautious approach to his return and may be waiting to see how he responds to strenuous workouts in the meantime.
