The Washington Wizards have reached a deal with point guard Jannero Pargo in hopes of providing depth while John Wall is injured, reported Michael Lee of the Washington Post.

The Wizards agreed to a deal with veteran point guard Jannero Pargo, who will help fill in while John Wall is hurt and possibly provide a serviceable backup even after his return.

Wall is expected to miss two months with a knee injury, including a handful of regular season games. Pargo will be the most proven option for the Wizards in Wall's absence, and will be competing with A.J. Price and Shelvin Mack for minutes.
Across eight NBA seasons, Pargo has only started 18 games. Price managed to impress in limited minutes across several seasons for the Indiana Pacers, while Mack averaged 3.6 points and 2.0 assists per game last season in his rookie year out of Butler. Although those younger players have more promise, Pargo is definitely a serviceable backup.
Pargo will be in his ninth year in the league out of Arkansas. Pargo was a journeyman early in his career, but proved himself as a role player behind Chris Paul for the New Orleans Hornets in 2006-07 and 2007-08, averaging 9.2 and 8.1 points in two seasons as a consistent role player. After his stint with the Hornets, he decided to try his luck overseas, taking his game for slightly-more-than-NBA money with Dynamo Moscow and Olympiakos in Greece and Russia. He returned to the NBA after two years to back up Derrick Rose with the Chicago Bulls, and this past season averaged 5.6 points and 1.9 assists as a rotation player for the Atlanta Hawks.
