Friday’s NBA preseason schedule: Hornets vs. Heat hits ESPN2, final exhibition day is finally here

The preseason portion of the 2012 NBA season ends on Friday as 18 teams hit the hardwood. The primetime matchup should be fun, as Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Hornets take on LeBron James and the Miami Heat on ESPN2 (7 p.m. ET).

The 2012 NBA preseason mercifully comes to an end on Friday night, as 18 teams take the court to close out the exhibition portion of the season. Two games will air on national television -- Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Hornets take on LeBron James and the Miami Heat on ESPN2 (7 p.m. ET) and Andre Iguodala and the Denver Nuggets match up against the new-look Phoenix Suns on ESPN (10:30 p.m. ET).

To illustrate how weird the preseason can be, consider this: the league's leading scorer in exhibition play is Glen Davis (17.7 pts/gm) and the leading rebounder is Omer Asik (11.5 reb/gm). Those two juggernauts (?) will meet up on Friday night when the Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets face off at 7 p.m. ET. Paul George has averaged 16.0 points per game, but he's shot just 37.3 percent from the field -- can he get on track against Tom Thibodeau and the Chicago Bulls?
