A knee injury could sideline the Knicks’ center but Tyson Chandler says he’ll “absolutely” be able to play in the opener.

    Tyson Chandler says he will be ready for season

    The Knicks are already dealing with an injury to Chandler’s frontcourt mate Amar’e Stoudemire. The forward is expected to miss at least two weeks with a knee issue.

    Chandler is the NBA’s reigning defensive player of the year after after recording 1.4 blocks and 6.5 defensive rebounds per game in a lockout-shortened 2011-12 season. The 7’1 Chandler also helped out on the offensive end for the Knicks, chipping in 11.3 points per contest.
