NBA scores: Lakers win again, Grizzlies smack Heat

Bernie Bickerstaff is 2-0 as the Lakers’ head coach, and the Grizzlies are absolutely on fire.

Benny Sieu-US PRESSWIRE

Lakers 103, Kings 90
Dwight Howard went nuts with 23 points and 18 rebounds as DeMarcus Cousins had been suspended due to a strange incident with Spurs commentator Sean Elliott. Unfortunately for the Kings, Chuck Hayes, Jason Thompson and Travis Outlaw were no match for D-12. But hey, Jimmer Fredette scored 18 off of the bench!

Grizzlies 104, Heat 86
This is real: Memphis is absolutely bludgeoning most opponents early this season, including the defending champs. Wayne Ellington did the heaviest damage on Sunday, hitting seven three-pointers on his way to 25 points.

Clippers 89, Hawks 76
Oh no, the Clippers have learned the skill defense. Team sentience is just around the corner.

Nets 82, Magic 74
Brooklyn scored 35 in the first quarter ... and 47 for the rest of the game. And this time, I’m not willing to credit the opponents’ defense. It’s also worth noting that Orlando is averaging 72 points per game over its last three.

Thunder 106, Cavaliers 91
Russell Westbrook had himself a game against rising star Kyrie Irving. Russ dropped 27 points on 10-16 shooting, 10 assists, six rebounds, four steals and ... eight turnovers. Kevin Martin had a ho-hum 16 points on 6-9 shooting.
