Rajon Rondo, Gerald Wallace and Kris Humphries were ejected late in the second quarter after Hump fouled Kevin Garnett and Rondo decided to get in the Net’s face and shove him backwards. A melee in which Kevin Garnett pretended an older, smaller white man could stop him in his track ensued. For what it’s worth, the Nets were already killing the Celtics -- the score was 51-38 Brooklyn when the fight happened. The Nets moved to 10-4 on the season, still tied with the Knicks for No. 1 in the Atlantic.

You won’t have the Washington Wizards to kick around any more! The Wizards led by 15 with nine minutes left ... and gave up a 16-0 run. But the Wiz finally cracked through in the last couple minutes to regrab the lead and reign supreme. Go Wizards!

A quite strong win for New York, as the Knicks starters completed outclass Milwaukee’s first five. Carmelo Anthony had 29 in 30 minutes, and Steve Novak hit 5-7 from long range.
Bulls 101, Mavericks 78
The second quarter just killed Dallas; Nate Robinson and Marco Belinelli sparked an 18-2 run that Chicago ran with all game long.
Clippers 101, Timberwolves 95
L.A. won the battle of skids, ending their recent drought behind a strong 23 points and 11 assists from Chris Paul. Kevin Love continues to put up big numbers (19 and 11) but Minnesota has won just once since his return. And that was the Kings. Asterisk.

San Antonio has quietly peeled off five straight wins, and Tim Duncan is just out here ballin’.
Grizzlies 103, Raptors 82
Toronto was apparently sick of losing in heartbreaking fashion, so they requested an old-fashioned stomp job.
Hawks 94, Bobcats 91
Charlotte made a valiant effort, but the Hawks held on behind Josh Smith’s rather nutty game: 17 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, five blocks and three steals. That’s unnatural, like Tim Duncan hitting buzzer beating threes.

Umm ... huh? How does anyone involved -- the Suns, the Pistons, the NBA -- allow this to happen?
