Mickael Pietrus will be signed by the Toronto Raptors, according to USA Today. Pietrus spent last season with the Boston Celtics, and will likely back up Raptors' leading scorer DeMar DeRozan in Toronto. USA Today is reporting that Dominic McGuire will be released to create a spot on the roster for Pietrus.

Pietrus averaged 6.9 points and 3.1 rebounds in 42 games for the Celtics last season. He’s averaged 8.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game over the course of his nine-year NBA career.

McGuire was averaging just 2.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game this season, slightly down from his career averages of 2.8 points and 3.4 rebounds.

Pietrus will offer the Raptors another outside shooting option, he took 1.5 three-point attempts per game last season while being noted for playing solid defense. McGuire has yet to attempt a three-point shot this season, and had only attempted 16 during the previous five seasons of his NBA career.
