Timberwolves 107, Nets 96
Brooklyn’s second home game of the season didn’t end so well. The Nets led by 15 at the half, but lost the fourth 32-10. Yes, 32-10. Let it be known that Alexey Shved scored 10 fourth quarter points for Minnesota to help the cause, and that Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov (who was in attendance) might arrange it so that Shved may never visit Moscow again.
Cavaliers 108, Clippers 101
Man, L.A.‘s defense is just gross. Dion Waiters, whose NBA career is one week deep, dropped 28 on the Clips, and shot 7-11 on three-pointers. L.A. has the talent and depth to be an elite club in this league ... but needs something to happen on defense. Anything.
Spurs 101, Pacers 79
Surprise! The Spurs are 4-0. Don’t worry, they’ll never go 82-0. Sitting at 81-0, Gregg Popovich would totally sit Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker to prep for the playoffs.
Grizzlies 103, Jazz 94
In Robert Pera’s home debut as the Grizzlies’ new owner, Memphis did not disappoint. Marc Gasol was particularly effective. El Wookie had 22 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and three blocks.
Mavericks 114, Blazers 91
O.J. Mayo dropped 32 points on 12-18 shooting. He’s averaging better than 20 per game this season on better than 50 percent shooting. Steal of the offseason.
Heat 124, Suns 99
Usually in a blow-out, the blown-out team can come back and win the fourth quarter -- it’s a law of garbage time, or something. Not the Suns. Not against the Heat. A clean sweep of the quarters for Miami.
Kings 94, Warriors 92
DeMarcus Cousins finally busted out of his early season slump to dominate the Warriors. All is right in the world. Boogie had 23 points and 15 rebounds.
