NBA Scores: Kevin Love, Timberwolves end Thunder’s win streak, Heat blast Mavericks

Timberwolves 99, Thunder 93
Nikola Pekovic and Kevin Love just destroyed Oklahoma City's frontline to the tune of 52 points, 21 rebounds and seven assists. Kevin Durant dropped 33 points in 25 shooting possessions against Andrei Kirilenko, but Russell Westbrook had a harder time with 30 points on 34 shooting possessions. J.J. Barea had 14 in the fourth quarter on 5-9 shooting to help the Timberwolves close the deal, ending Oklahoma City's 12-game winning streak. Ricky Rubio again played just 18 minutes, going 0-3 with three assists and two turnovers, but Alexey Shved effectively ran the club. OKC's top reserve Kevin Martin missed the game with a thigh contusion.

Heat 110, Mavericks 95
Dallas trailed by as many as 36 in the third quarter. The Heat had built a 14-point lead in the first that shrunk to three by the second, but Miami just continued to go on runs that put the game far out of reach. LeBron James played 31 minutes and ended up with 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Dwyane Wade put up 19 in 26 minutes with six assists. O.J. Mayo had an awful shooting night (3-14), and rookie Jae Crowder ended up as Dallas' top scorer with 15. The Mavericks have lost four of five and sit two games under .500 at 12-14. Come back, Dirk.

Blazers 101, Nuggets 93
It is very difficult to win a basketball game when you are outscored 42-0 on three-pointers. Portland went a respectable 14-36 on threes. Denver went ... 0-22, setting a new record for single-game futility. The Nuggets were remarkably close to winning this game despite the errant jumpers. They shot 50 percent on two-pointers after all, and scored exactly one basket outside the paint. The other 91 points came on shots in the paint and free throws, all of which were drawn on attempts ... in the paint. Just a surreal performance for one of the NBA's most surreal teams. Wesley Matthews, back from injury, had 20 points for Portland. J.J. Hickson finished with 18 points and 18 rebounds.
