Bucks vs. Celtics 2012 results: Milwaukee pulls out OT road win in Boston

The Milwaukee Bucks came from behind in the fourth quarter and then pulled it out in the extra session to leave Boston with a hard-fought win.

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

The Milwaukee Bucks were able to go into TD Garden and knock off the Boston Celtics 99-94 in overtime on Friday in an epic battle of two teams trying to find their way among the Eastern Conference's playoff hopefuls.

The Bucks entered the fourth quarter down by eight, but took the lead on a Brandon Jennings' three-pointer with 7:56 remaining. Then with the Celtics down by seven with 33 seconds remaining, Boston improbably tied the game on two free throws by Paul Pierce, a Jeff Green bucket and a game-tying three-pointer by Pierce with two seconds left in regulation.

But the Bucks outscored the Celtics in the overtime period behind Larry Sanders, Monta Ellis and Jennings. Pierce had a chance to tie it with five seconds left, but missed a three-pointer.

The Bucks were led by Ellis’ 27 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Sanders finished with 17 points and 20 rebounds while Luc Richard Mbah a Moute added 20 points and six rebounds and Jennings pitched in 12 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, though he turned the ball over seven times.

Pierce finished with 35 points on 13-for-23 shooting, 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals in the loss. Kevin Garnett (12 points, seven rebounds), Jeff Green (14 points, four steals) and Courtney Lee (11 points) all scored in double-figures for the Celtics.

The Bucks improved to 14-11 with the win while the Celtics dropped to .500 at 13-13.
