Deron Williams injury: Nets star out with bruised wrist vs. Bucks

Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams will not play on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks due to a bruised wrist.

Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams will miss his first game of the season on Wednesday because of a bruised wrist. The Nets will play the Milwaukee Bucks at 8 p.m. ET in Milwaukee, but without their All-Star point guard.

Williams is averaging 16.6 points and 8.0 assists per game this season, numbers below his career averages. The Nets signed Williams to a five-year, $98.7 million deal on July 11, but he has not been himself this season. Williams is shooting career lows of 39.8% from the field and 29.5% from beyond the arc. His 16.6 points per game are the least since his second season, and his 8.0 assists per game are the least since his rookie year.

Williams revealed in late November that he had been playing with a sprained right wrist, but never missed any games for the injury. C.J. Watson will start at point guard as the Nets (14-13) take on the Bucks (14-12).
