Portland Trail Blazers guard Wesley Matthews hurt his left hip flexor during the fourth quarter of Saturday's 99-80 loss to the Sacramento Kings and now, his 250 straight games played streak is in jeopardy as the Blazers wait to play again on Monday, according to The Oregonian.

Wesley Matthews and his Iron Man streak are now in jeopardy due to an injury suffered on Saturday night.

Matthews was kneed in the hip by John Salmons in the third quarter before hearing the hip pop in the fourth. If his streak were to end, it would be the conclusion of the second-longest current Iron Man streak in the league behind Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook's 332 games.
Matthews is known on the Blazers for playing through pain and not letting anyone know he is hurting when he actually is. He played three months in 2010-11 on a swollen right ankle and had surgery on it at the end of the season without anyone really hearing anything about it.
“It’s done not only out of stubbornness, but out of sacrifice for the team,” said Matthews to The Oregonian. “I’ve not just an individual thing, I’m doing this so my team knows I’m going to fight for them regardless. As long as I can compete, I’m going to compete.”
Matthews hasn’t officially been ruled out of Monday’s game against Toronto and still wants to play if his rest on Sunday and treatment goes well. Matthews is averaging 16.1 points per game this season for the Blazers, who are 8-12.
