The New Orleans Hornets appear to have come to Madison Square Garden determined to snap the seven-game winning streak of the New York Knicks. The Hornets clamped down on Jeremy Lin in the first quarter and ended up taking a huge early lead. The Knicks closed that gap admirably, but the big first quarter by New Orleans has them entering halftime up by a score of 43-39.

The Hornets held Lin to just a few points in the first quarter while outscoring New York by a whopping 27-13. The Knicks still trailed by 10 points midway through the second half, but came back in a big way to close the gap to 4. They gave New Orleans a taste of their own medicine by outscoring them 26-16 in the second quarter.

Trevor Ariza is leading the Hornets with 12 points and six rebounds, while Chris Kaman has contributed 10 points. On the Knicks side, Amare Stoudemire is leading all scorers with 14 points. Jeremy Lin currently has 10 points and four assists.
