NBA Rumors: Nets Looking For A Small Forward, Might Sign Renaldo Balkman
Fred Kerber of the New York Post reports that the Nets have been outscored 500-188 at the starting small forward spot this season, and as such are looking at potentially picking up Renaldo Balkman, who was waived by the New York Knicks this week to make room for J.R. Smith. Balkman, who has bounced between the Knicks and Denver Nuggets over his short career, is primarily a defender, like the man he'd replace (DeShawn Stevenson).
It's unclear if the Nets will look for help at the position in the trade market or if Dwight Howard remains the sole target. If New Jersey needs to take back salary cap fluff to land Howard, Hedo Turkoglu would actually be a massive upgrade at small forward despite being massively overpaid.
