Former NBA MVP Allen Iverson remains unclaimed by an NBA team two years after last playing in the league for the Philadelphia 76ers, but rumors continue to circulate about a potential return. One previous stumbling block was that Iverson was unwilling to play in the NBA Development League or any other minor-league system, but he has since changed his stance, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard:
Allen Iverson Willing To Play In NBA Developmental League, According To Report
Former NBA star Allen Iverson is still flirting with a return to basketball, and may play for a minor-league team to do so.
With hopes of getting one last shot in the NBA, former All-Star and league MVP Allen Iverson is contemplating playing minor league basketball, according to a person close to the situation.
Iverson is willing to play in the Caribbean, in South America or even in the D-League if it gives him a chance to return to the NBA, the source said.
No NBA team has expressed much interest in Iverson, but the Los Angeles Lakers' D-League affiliate has reached out to him before, according to Broussard.
If that fails, at least Iverson has an offer to play minor-league soccer, according to a CBS Sports report.
