Mike D’Antoni Resignation Sparks New York Knicks Prop Odds

Mike D’Antoni is done in New York, and though the reasons aren’t publicly known at the moment, prop odds in the aftermath of his resignation are already in the public domain.

There was a rash of Knicks props posted at Bovada within hours of the report that the head coach had resigned.

Most intriguing among them was odds on Phil Jackson taking over as head coach by next season.

And more immediately, what does the move mean for the Knicks’ playoff chances? It’s an even-odds proposition that the Knicks miss the playoffs.

And fans guessing on the team’s win total for 2012 have a new number etched in sportsbook stone: 31.5 wins.

“There are prop odds on Lin starting the rest of the games and Melo starting the rest of the games on the Knicks’ schedule, but it’s that Jackson prop that has people talking,” said Mark Presley, NBA analyst at OddsShark.com.
