Boris Diaw will land on waivers after agreeing to a buyout with the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the San Antonio Spurs have emerged as favorites to acquire the French veteran forward should he go unclaimed.

Diaw started 28 games with the Bobcats this season, averaging 7.4 points, 5.3 rebound and 4.3 assists in over 27 minutes per outing. He reportedly fell out of favor with Charlotte head coach Paul Silas do to his lack of aggressiveness as a scorer. Questions about his fitness have followed Diaw throughout his career, but his versatility could be a major boost to the Spurs.
The Spurs will have to act quickly if they are serious about acquiring Diaw. He will officially clear waivers on Friday, which is the last day free agents can be signed and be eligible to participate in the playoffs.
