Boris Diaw Rumors: Paul Silas Deactivates Charlotte Bobcats Forward, Is Critical Of His Play

An earlier report suggested that the Charlotte Bobcats and forward Boris Diaw had been discussing a potential buyout of his contract, and the latest quotes from Bobcats head coach Paul Silas surely confirm that Diaw's days in Charlotte are numbered. Silas deactivated Diaw prior to the Bobcats' game against the Utah Jazz and was highly critical of Diaw's play this season.

Via Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer:

“I think if he had played all out, the way he should have, it would have been a much, much better club,” Silas said, when asked why Diaw has fallen out of the rotation entirely.

Silas was particularly critical of Diaw’s propensity to pass out of easy shots. He said Diaw’s continuing reluctance to shoot, even given the lack of talent around him, was “disturbing.”

Diaw is averaging just 7.7 points per game this season. This is the final year of his contract.
