Anderson Varejao Injury Update: Cavaliers’ Big Men Expected To Return This Season

Anderson Verejao was on his way to a career year for the Cleveland Cavaliers before being shelved in mid February with a fractured wrist. He was a given a 4-6 week prognosis return, and now it appears that he will adhere pretty close to that timetable. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Verejao is expected to play this season, and will return to practice either the first or second week of April.

Varejao was averaging 10.8 points and 11.5 rebounds, and led the league with 4.4 offensive boards per game before being forced to the sideline, all of which were career highs. The Cavaliers are 7-12 since Varejao left the lineup on Feb. 11, and just 17-27 on the season.
