Steve Nash Rumors: Phoenix Suns Point Guard Clarifies Status

Steve Nash responded to comments that he is disgruntled with the Phoenix Suns organization. The New York Post claimed that the point guard was "steamed" that the team didn't pursue Boris Diaw following his release from the Charlotte Bobcats. SB Nation Arizona was on the scene as Nash explained that he didn't know where the rumors were coming from.

“Oh really? That’s the first I heard of it,” Nash said. “Obviously, I’d love to have Boris (Diaw) on the team but, um, I never talked to anybody in New York. I’m happy. We’ve got ourselves a chance to make the playoffs. We’ve overachieved this far, frankly, and we always want more.”

Nash did say that he would like the team to make an effort to add a go-to offensive weapon in the offseason, or at least a committee of players that can pick up the scoring slack. He also reiterated that he is keeping his options open regarding what he might do as a free agent after the season.

“We’ll see. Like I said, I’m just keeping all my options open. I want to try and get in the playoffs here and have these last 15 games go our way. I really don’t think about it much. At this point I want us to try and do the best we can in these 15 games. We’ll worry about that after the season.”
