Knicks Vs. Celtics: Boston Wins In OT Behind Rajon Rondo’s Epic Triple-Double

Since the time of Lin’s emergence, this Knicks team has looked like a completely different bunch. Prior to Linsanity’s beginning, the Knicks were up to their usual tricks (or lack thereof, I should say). New York had lost two in a row and 11 of 13 and was quickly fading out of playoff contention, a sign of real mediocrity in a top-heavy Eastern Conference.

With Lin elevated to a starting role, the Knicks became a force, winning seven straight and 11 of 13 games. The personnel swap certainly played a big role in New York’s new-found success, but Lin has helped the Knicks with far more than scoring and passing. More importantly, Lin has helped usher in a complete culture change.

It doesn’t sound like a Garnett-type play, but the animated video is included below as evidence.

Um yeah, wow.

In fact, Rondo had 13 points, 15 assists and nine rebounds after three quarters, which is a classic Rondo-Triple-Double in waiting. (EDIT: Rondo *did* in indeed grab that triple-double).

Meanwhile, Lin has as many turnovers (six) as points (six).

Walker is scheduled to have an elbow debridement on Monday, the team announced, and will miss the next four to six weeks as he recovers from surgery.

Considering everyone else is healthy, Posting and Toasting’s Seth Rosenthal notes that the loss shouldn’t be a huge issue for the Knicks as long as the rest of the team is able to avoid injury.

The Knicks and Celtics have met twice already this season, including the very first game of the regular season on TNT back on Christmas. New York won that match, but the Celtics got revenge at home on February 3.
