The New York Knicks have struggled with injuries all season, rarely being healthy from the top to the bottom of the roster. And just when that pattern looked like it might be changing, the team announced Sunday that swingman Bill Walker will miss at least another month due to an elbow injury.
Bill Walker Scheduled For Elbow Surgery, Sidelined 4-6 Weeks
New York Knicks wing Bill Walker will miss at least one month after getting an elbow debridement on Monday, the team announced.
Walker is scheduled to have an elbow debridement on Monday, the team announced, and will miss the next four to six weeks as he recovers from surgery.
Considering everyone else is healthy, Posting and Toasting’s Seth Rosenthal notes that the loss shouldn’t be a huge issue for the Knicks as long as the rest of the team is able to avoid injury.
Walker was likely going to be buried in the rotation anyway, so this setback might very well end his season (“four to six weeks” = “pretty much the rest of the regular season”). Best of luck to Bill, and may that left elbow be clean as a whistle from Monday forward.
Walker hasn’t played since Feb. 17. The third-year pro averaged 6.1 points in 30 games this season, including eight spot starts as others dealt with injury.
