Mavericks Vs. Thunder: Kevin Durant And Dirk Nowitzki To Square Off

Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant will meet up for the last time during the regular season on Monday night as Dirk’s Dallas Mavericks take on Durant’s Oklahoma City Thunder in a game scheduled for an 8 p.m. tip-off on NBA TV.

The Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder are kind of at opposite ends of the spectrum considering the Mavs are one of the older teams in the NBA while the majority of the Thunder players have yet to reach their theoretical prime. Their matchups are always exciting, however, because the teams feature two of the best scorers in the NBA.

Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant are two of the best scoring forwards in the NBA and, as of late, they've been proving exactly how good can they be. Nowitzki is coming off of a season-high 40 point performance against the Utah Jazz on Saturday night while Durant had a 35-point performance of his own on Saturday night, albeit in a loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

Those two aren't all that the teams have to offer, however, as Jason Kidd and Russell Westbrook offer an intriguing battle at the point guard position while the sixth men -- James Harden for OKC and Lamar Odom for the Mavs -- are both talented enough to start on quite a few teams, if not their own.

Monday night’s game, scheduled for an 8 p.m. tip-off on NBA TV, is the final of four meetings between the Mavericks and Thunder this season. Oklahoma City currently holds a 2-1 lead, but the Mavs could even it up with a victory while starting a winning streak in March.
