Dwight Howard Trade Rumors: Orlando Magic Not Taking Offers Now, According To Report

Dwight Howard remains the biggest potential chip on the market as NBA trade rumors begin to heat up, but the Orlando Magic still seem insistent on keeping him. The Magic are telling teams not to bother asking about Howard right now, according to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

The March 15 trade deadline is approaching, and the Magic are still telling teams to spare them the trade calls unless they’re offering a player to join Howard.

Magic team president Alex Martins and owner Rich DeVos are leading the charge to keep Howard, with Wojnarowski reporting that Martins was the driving force that vetoed a January deal that could have sent Howard to the New Jersey Nets.

Speaking of the Nets, Wojnarowski reports that the Magic have not talked to them in a while, even though they are the reported front-runners for Howard’s services. However, according to Wojnarowski, most league executives believe the Magic will soon have to deal Howard, whether they want to or not.
