Stephen Curry Injury: Warriors Guard Shut Down For Season With Ankle Injury, According To Report

Unsurprisingly, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry will not play again this season, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard. Curry has not played since March 11 and has been in and out of the lineup all season due to an ankle injury.

Curry was one of the NBA’s rising stars prior to this season, but suffered an ankle injury early in the year and has been struggling with it all season. He sat out two weeks in January with the injury and returned to play through most of February before being shut down for good in March. Curry averaged 14.7 points per game on 49 percent shooting in 26 games this season.

The Warriors currently are tied with the Detroit Pistons for the eighth-worst record in the league. If the Warriors do not finish with one of the first seven picks in the 2012 NBA draft, their pick goes to the Utah Jazz as part of a previous deal. Therefore, even if Curry is healthy, there's little reason for the Warriors to play him again this year.
