The New York Knicks are in eighth place in the Eastern Conference and are without both Jeremy Lin and Amare Stoudemire for an extended period of time. Those injuries led many to believe that the Bucks would catch them eventually, but they're playing very well. They've won nine of their last 12 in total and three out of their last five without Stoudemire and Lin. One of those three wins came against Milwaukee, and another came against Thursday night's opponent, the Orlando Magic.
Knicks Vs. Magic: Two Injury-Ravaged Teams Fight For Playoff Position
The Knicks and Magic are both dealing with serious injury problems coming into their game on Thursday.
When the Knicks take the floor against the Magic on Thursday, (7:00 p.m. ET, TNT), they're unlikely to be alone in dealing with injury issues. Both Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson are game time decisions for Orlando. Ryan Anderson is confirmed as out. This means that the Magic could be without their top three scorers on Thursday night.
Without Howard, the Magic’s interior defense has been shaky, and without Nelson and Anderson, they can’t score. They have lost their last four games in a row, but it’s worth noting that two of those games were on the road and three of them were against playoff-quality teams. The Knicks are playing much better basketball than the Magic over the last week, but they have a dismal 9-17 road record. This is the first time the two teams have met in Orlando, where the Magic are 18-10 this year.
