The Charlotte Bobcats aren't exactly playing for anything meaningful, considering the team has picked up victories in just seven of its 54 games this season. It hasn't been a good season for professional basketball fans in North Carolina; with Eduardo Najera's head injury over the weekend, it looks like it may have gotten worse.
Eduardo Najera Injury: Bobcats Veteran Likely Out For Season Following Surgery
Najera had successful surgery to fix the fractured frontal lobe in his forehead on Saturday, according to a press release on the team’s website, but he is expected to miss the remainder of the season. Those are pretty severe consequences considering the inadvertent elbow he took didn’t seem to be that severe upon first glance.
The 35-year-old Najera has played 11 years in the NBA, the majority of which came with the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets. He scored 58 points and grabbed 50 rebounds in 22 appearances off the bench for the Bobcats this season.
