LaVoy Allen’s Third Foul Is A Problem

It’s amazing that we’re writing that headline, but it doesn’t make it any less true. The 76ers have come to rely on their rookie second-round pick in this series for his physical defense, but he picked up his third foul trying to deny a post entry pass to Kevin Garnett.

With Allen out, the 76ers have to play Elton Brand or Spencer Hawes on Garnett, and both are too slow. Both also aren’t rotating off the ball well, which is allowing the Celtics to get into the lane. The result? Forty-four points in the first 18 minutes for Boston.
