We’re less than a week away from the NBA Draft Lottery, and that means it’s time for teams to reveal their ridiculous superstitions that they think will carry them to the No. 1 pick. There have been a lot of dumb ones over the years -- for a complete list, read this old piece from 2010 -- and I’d hesitate to say that anything we’ll see this year will top any of those.

That said, the New Orleans' Hornets "Mr. Lottery Ball" gimmick is right up there.
That video is essentially a guy dressed in a Hornets lottery ball answering a bunch of dumb questions, with the fake reporters addressing him as “Mr. Ball.” This is a real thing.
But wait ... it gets better. Here’s what he looks like at the end of the video.
Not only is he a human lottery ball, but he’s now a drunk human lottery ball, thanks to a partnership with Budwesier. I can’t wait to see him make an appearance if the Hornets actually win the lottery.
