Celtics, Mavericks To Spend 2012-13 Preseason In Europe
The Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks will both play a pair of game in Europe during the NBA’s 2012-13 preseason.

The NBA made the announcement on Monday morning, via press release, that the Celtics will play Turkey's Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul and Emporio Armani of Italy, while Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs will face Alba Berlin in Germany before playing a game in Spain with the details yet to be announced.
The four-game tour tips off on Oct. 5 when the 17-time NBA Champion Boston Celtics play five-time Turkish Champions Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul at the newly opened, state-of-the-art Ulker Sports Arena in Istanbul, Turkey. The highly successful O2 World in Berlin, Germany, will be the venue for the homecoming of German national Dirk Nowitzki as the 2011 NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks take on eight-time German Champions Alba Berlin on Oct. 6.
Next stop is Milan, Italy, where 25-time Italian Champions EA7 Emporio Armani will match up against the Celtics at the Mediolanum Forum on Oct.7. The Mavericks will play an additional game in Spain with details to be announced in the near future.
Fenerbahce employed a few players that diehard NBA fans will be familar with this past season in Roko Ukic, James Gist and recent Nets draft pick Bojan Bogdanovic. Alba Berlin's roster this year included former NBAer Kyle Weaver while the Armani roster boasted Richard Hendrix, Malik Hairston and Omar Cook.
The game to watch will, of course, be Dirk heading back to the homeland but it’s always fun to see some of the top European teams try to knock off their American counterparts in exhibition action.
