The 2012 NBA Draft is set to take place on Thursday and many moves are expected to be made, but a pre-draft move has already occurred. The Charlotte Bobcats and the Detroit Pistons have gotten things started on the trade front, as the two sides have agreed to a deal, according to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

The Detroit Pistons have traded Ben Gordon and a first-round pick to the Charlotte Bobcats in return for Corey Maggette, according to a report.

In the deal, the Bobcats will get Ben Gordon and Detroit’s 2013 first-round pick, with lottery protection, in return for Corey Maggette. As Wojnarowski notes, the deal will send the Pistons an expiring contract while also saving the team nearly $15 million in salary.
