On Friday, Dwight Howard reportedly (again) requested a trade to the Brooklyn Nets. He also is of the mind that the Orlando Magic blackmailed him into waiving his opt-out clause for the 2012-13 season, according to an ESPN report. New Magic GM Rob Hennigan has apparently seen enough. According to Yahoo!‘s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Magic are now seriously considering trade offers for Howard.
Magic Again Considering Dwight Howard Trade, According To Report
In an odd twist, Woj reports that the Nets are no longer focusing on Howard, instead seeking to surround Deron Williams, a free agent, with talent. Brooklyn has reportedly been in talks to land Joe Johnson, Luis Scola and O.J. Mayo (an unrestricted free agent). The Rockets are reportedly still interested in Howard, and other teams will surely come out of the woodwork.
Howard had back surgery in the spring and missed the postseason. He won three straight Defensive Player of the Year awards from 2008-11.
