The Oklahoma City Thunder and head coach Scott Brooks will be together a lot longer, it appears. In a deal first reported by TNT's David Aldridge, the team and head coach agreed to a four-year contract worth $4 million per year. Sports Illustrated's Sam Amick confirmed the amount through Brooks's agent, Warren LeGarle.

The Thunder and head coach Scott Brooks have agreed to a four-year, $16 million contract extension, according to multiple reports.
Brooks's contract expired after the 2011-2012 season in which he led one of the youngest teams in the NBA to a berth in the NBA Finals after beating the Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs in consecutive series in the playoffs.
Brooks has the unwavering support of star player Kevin Durant, despite taking frequent criticism in the past two seasons for allowing second-team All-NBA point guard Russell Westbrook to dominate the offense for long stretches and going several possessions without passing once. Durant, under Brooks's tutelage, has won the NBA scoring title three consecutive seasons.
