Kris Humphries Is Way Too Cold, Somebody Get The Theraflu

Can’t a power forward get money anymore???? Kris Humphries signed a massive two year, $24 million deal with the Brooklyn Nets this morning, and then he tweeted this:

Okay, let’s explain why this is awesome.

It all started with a Kanye West song called “Theraflu” that was renamed “Way Too Cold” when Theraflu objected to Kanye using their product as a metaphor for swagger. (4 p.m. correction! Actually it was Kanye using Theraflu as part of the cover artwork that got everyone upset and prompted the name change.)

(Writing about rap is the best.)

Anyway, in the song, after Kanye tells us about his $6,000 pair of shoes and making it to the Paris News, he starts the second verse talking about his past relationship (with Amber Rose), and then moves on to his current relationship (Kim Kardashian) with this:

I’ll admit, I had fell in love with Kim
Around the same time she had fell in love with him
Well that’s cool, baby girl, do ya thang
Lucky I ain’t had Jay drop him from the team

See where we’re going? “Him” is Kris Humphries, and... Fast-forward a few months and now Humphries is dropped from the team making $12 million-a-year and doing just fine.

WHAT UP KANYE?

[/FUNK FLEX BOMB]

...Granted, there’s a good chance he’s just a trade chip, but that massive deal is signed either way. And for a perfectly decent power forward who made some mistakes and then became the source of nationwide scorn and ridicule, it’s nice to see that he’s still got a sense of humor about it all.

Next up! Dinner with Anna Wintour, obviously.
