Anthony Davis Injury Update: Team USA Status To Be Decided Later In Week

A report Monday indicated that Anthony Davis would not play for Team USA at the 2012 London Olympics due to a severely sprained ankle suffered during workouts. Nothing has officially been determined yet, however, as the New Orleans Hornets announced later that an evaluation on Davis' ability to practice would not be made until later in the week.

If Davis does sit, Team USA's options at center become very limited. Dwight Howard will miss the Olympics after undergoing back surgery late last season. Chris Bosh will miss with the abdominal injury that bothered him during the playoffs.

There is no word yet whether Davis’ ankle injury could hinder him for the start of his rookie season with the Hornets.
