Denver (23-16) trailed 87-79 heading into the final frame after a back and forth first three quarters, but started the fourth on a 19-2 run to take control of the game. Golden State (23-13), who shot over 57 percent the first three quarters, went over three minutes without a point during the crucial stretch. Curry hit two three-pointers to trim the margin to three with just over six minutes left, but the Nuggets used a quick 8-0 spurt to help put the game away.
Danilo Gallinari had 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting and 3-of-7 from three to lead six Nuggets in double figures. Gallinari also had 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Ty Lawson added 20 points and 5 assists, while Wilson Chandler, Corey Brewer and Andre Miller all reached double-digits off the bench. Denver's bench outscored Golden State's bench 48-19.
Curry scored a game-high 29 points on 11-of-18 shooting and 7-of-9 from three-point land for Golden State. David Lee had 23 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists, while rookie Harrison Barnes chipped in 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting. The Warriors lost despite 51.8 percent shooting overall and making 13-of-24 from long range.
