With many of their older players suffering with injuries, the Knicks will get a needed burst of youth and athleticism when Iman Shumpert returns to the court in London.

After tearing his knee in last season’s playoffs, the second year guard will be back in action when New York plays Detroit in London on Thursday.

Shumpert, an explosive 6'5, 220-pound guard, has been out all season since tearing his ACL against the Heat in the first round of the playoffs last year.
The second-year guard made an instant impact as a rookie, becoming a fan favorite with his athleticism and defensive tenacity on the perimeter. Shumpert averaged 10 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists on 40/31/80 shooting last season.
Ronnie Brewer filled Shumpert's role as a perimeter defender earlier in the season, but his inconsistent offense has fallen him out of favor with Mike Woodson in the last few weeks.
Knicks fans will hope that the Georgia Tech product has improved his shooting during his rehabilitation process, as they've thrived when putting shooters around Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler.
