The Golden State Warriors cannot beat the San Antonio Spurs. Well, they can, but they don't. The Warriors have lost 16-consecutive games against San Antonio. On the road it's been especially bad, as Golden State has dropped 27-straight match-ups in San Antonio, where they will take on the Spurs on Friday night (8:30 p.m. ET).

The Milwaukee Bucks exorcised their road demons in Phoenix on Thursday night and snapped a 24-game road losing streak that dated back to Feb. 21, 1987, so maybe that will inspire the Warriors to follow suit. They may need some extra inspiration, because Stephen Curry tweaked his ankle again and he is not expected to play. It's bad news for Golden State, as they are 10-31 in games where Curry has not played during his career.
What's worse is that the Spurs own one of the best home records in the NBA (17-2), and they have not lost a game at the AT&T Center since Nov. 19 against the Los Angeles Clippers. That's 13-straight home wins, in case you're counting.
The Warriors last won a road game in San Antonio on Feb. 14, 1997. Latrell Sprewell scored a game-high 32 points on 12-22 shooting, Chris Mullin added 18 points and Joe Smith chipped in a 20-point, 13-rebound double-double in that game, as Golden State pulled away for a 108-94 victory.
